Federal Benefits

1. Canada Child Benefit (CCB)

This is a monthly tax-free payment designed to make life a little easier while raising kids under 18.

💰 What you can receive:

  • Up to $7,787/year per child under age 6

  • Up to $6,570/year per child aged 6–17

  • Based on your household income

  • Paid directly to you each month

2. Child Disability Benefit (CDB)

If your child qualifies for the Disability Tax Credit, this additional monthly benefit can help support your family’s unique needs.

  • Up to $3,322/year per eligible child

  • Paid alongside the CCB

3. Education Grants via RESP

Saving for your child’s post-secondary education? The government will help you grow your savings faster with these two amazing programs:

a) Canada Education Savings Grant (CESG)

  • 20% match on your annual RESP contributions (up to $500/year)

  • Up to $7,200 per child over time

  • Extra 10–20% available for lower-income households

b) Canada Learning Bond (CLB)

  • No contribution needed to start

  • $500 upfront, plus $100/year (up to $2,000 total)

  • Designed to give every child a head start

Provincial Benefits

Each province adds its own layer of support—here’s what’s available in British Columbia, Ontario, and Alberta:


British Columbia – BC Family Benefit

A monthly top-up for BC families with children under 18—automatically paid with your CCB.

🎉 What you can receive:

  • Up to $2,188/year for your first child

  • Up to $1,375/year for your second

  • Up to $1,125/year for each additional child

  • Up to $500/year extra for single parents

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Designed to support families earning under $114,887


Ontario – Ontario Child Benefit (OCB)

A helpful monthly benefit to support Ontario families with lower and moderate incomes.

💵 What you could get:

  • Up to $1,607/year per child

  • Paid monthly along with the CCB

  • Full benefit if household income is under ~$24,815

  • Gradually reduced for higher incomes


Alberta – Alberta Child and Family Benefit (ACFB)

Alberta families get extra support through this targeted benefit program, which rewards both family size and working income.

🌟 What’s included:

  • Base amount: Up to $1,499/year for the first child, plus $749 for each additional child

  • Working income supplement for families with earned income over $2,760

  • Benefits scale based on household income (up to ~$46,000)
